Policies

Day of Appointment

Please arrive on time for your appointment to ensure you receive your full scheduled service. If you are running excessively late, please be aware that we may need to reschedule your appointment so as to not interfere with other scheduled appointments.


Cancellations

We do not require our clients to pay in advance to schedule appointments, except when scheduling the YUKO Permanent Hair Straightening System or a 7AM appointment. We do ask that you call at least 72 hours in advance to cancel or move your appointments. The more warning we get the better, that way we can re-book the time. We understand that everyone occasionally forgets or has emergency schedule changes, so your first no-show is "on the house", except with the YUKO Permanent Hair Straightening System or for 7AM appointments. These missed appointments will be charged 50% of the scheduled service. 



Permanent Hair Straightening Policies

Deposit is required.  At the time you officially book a day, a 50% deposit needs to be paid either on credit card, money order, cash or check. When scheduling an appointment over the phone, the deposit is due within 48 hours of booking or at least 48 hours before the appointment. The balance of the service will be charged to you the day of your appointment.


Cancellation Policy

If at all possible, give at least a week notice when canceling. To change your date, and have your deposit transfer to the new date, a minimum of 72 hours notice of date change is required. To cancel an appointment with no reschedule, 72 hours notice is required for a refund of the deposit. If 72 hours notice is not given on a cancellation, but the appointment can be filled, the deposit will be refunded. Not showing up the morning of the appointment, or canceling the morning of the appointment renders the deposit automatically non-refundable.  Showing up later than 30 minutes to an appointment without calling the salon renders the deposit non-refundable, and the appointment cancelled.


Hair Condition

If your hair is rendered unsuitable for straightening because of something done between the consultation and the straightening appointment, the appointment will be canceled and the deposit will not be returned. Examples of this include, but are not limited to, chemically altering the hair, damaging the hair by any means, and acquiring any form of contagious skin condition or nit/lice infestation. We strictly enforce our no-nit/lice policy which serves to protect all of our clients. We do not treat or diagnose infectious or contagious conditions and reserve the right to refuse anyone who we feel might be a carrier of any such condition. For infectious diseases, a letter from the overseeing doctor will need to be submitted before being allowed to reschedule, and a new deposit given. For lice or nits, a 2 week waiting period will be required before rescheduling, and a new deposit given. If a client shows up for the rescheduled appointment, still infected, the deposit will be non-refundable and the client will not be allowed to book again.

If a phone consultation was done due to extenuating circumstances and you arrive the day of your appointment with hair that was misrepresented over the phone and unsuitable for straightening, the appointment will be cancelled and the deposit will not be returned.

For returning clients scheduled for a root-touch up, consultations are not necessary if the client has not altered their hair’s chemical condition since the last straightening. If the hair has been chemically altered, the client must be forth coming with that information.

All the above policies apply to returning clients, arriving to the salon the day of their straightening appointment.

Along these same lines, the appointment will be cancelled and deposit not returned, if the client arrives to their straightening appointment obviously sick or is under doctor’s orders to be in bed. Rescheduling, in this situation, will be determined on a case by case basis.

The goal is to take your hair, chemically, to the straightest and healthiest point possible. You have 1 week after your straightening to report any under processed or over processed hair. If you wait longer than 1 week, you are giving up your right to all complimentary touch ups, conditioning treatments or any other necessary products.
