Not that I’m old or anything, but it seems as though I’ve been doing hair all of my life. In reality, it’s been nearly 18 years since I first began. I actually got a “taste” of the beauty industry when I was very young and I would go visit my aunt in Florida. She owned her own beauty salon and I would spend my entire summer vacations there from the age of 5 on. I was mesmerized from the very beginning. I loved watching my aunt and the other stylists interact with their clients and leave them with a smile on their faces. That’s when I developed a passion for doing hair. From that point forward, I would play hairdresser at home and do all of my girlfriends’ hair when they would come over to play. At some point, it just became a natural progression for me to start in the industry. I did so at the age of 16 and as they say, the rest is history.
